Ambassador Clarems Endara submitted this Friday his management report as Permanent Secretary of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA) for the period 2021-2025, in which he highlights a 40% execution rate of the Work Programme until July this year.
“We managed to ensure that SELA’s team was directly involved and committed to each of the activities planned in the Work Programme. We made progress in the modernisation of the organisation in order to align its thematic areas. I would like to express my gratitude to all the officials who have accepted the challenge of having a new organisation with a convening capacity,” Ambassador Endara said during his speech.
The report was received by Ambassador Lesly David, Permanent Secretary of SELA elected for the period 2025-2029, who signed the handover document and acknowledged the work carried out by his predecessor. On behalf of the organisation, he made a special recognition to Ambassador Clarems Endara for his outstanding contribution to the strengthening of regional integration during his term of office.
The activity was attended by the diplomatic authorities who make up the Bureau of the Latin American Council of the organisation, namely: Milton Rengifo, Ambassador of Colombia in Venezuela and Chair of the Latin American Council; Helietta González, Head of Chancellery of the Mexican Embassy in Venezuela and Second Vice-Chair; and Migbelis Duyon, representative of the Cuban Embassy in Venezuela whose country holds the position of Rapporteur of the Latin American Council.
Ambassador Endara was elected by acclamation on 21 June 2021, within the framework of the XIII Special Meeting of the Latin American Council of SELA, with the mandate to reposition the organisation in the region and reorient its agenda according to the priorities of its Member States.
