The Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA) and the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences (UPC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a framework for cooperation to promote knowledge on sustainable and inclusive economic and social development in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Through this agreement, the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences (UPC) and SELA aim to strengthen and intensify their collaborative and working relationships through a framework of cooperation, as well as to promote efforts that contribute to sustainable and inclusive economic and social development in the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC).

The Memorandum of Understanding provides for the organisation of face-to-face or virtual meetings, seminars, workshops and training sessions on topics of mutual interest; collaboration on studies and projects; the provision of advice on economic, social and infrastructure development and digitalisation; joint research studies on topics deemed appropriate to contribute to the objectives of each party; the provision, to the extent possible, of infrastructure and human and technical resources for the delivery of training courses on topics of interest; and the development of specific cooperation activities and projects in previously agreed areas.

This agreement supports SELA’s Work Programme for 2022-2026, especially in the area of social development, contributing to the improvement of social development indicators in the region in a resilient manner through cooperation initiatives, training, the creation of agreements and the exchange of best practices.
