SELA and Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil sign Cooperation Framework Agreement

The Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA) and the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil (UCSG) signed a Framework Agreement on Interinstitutional Cooperation to join efforts, resources and capacities within the scope of their respective competences, in order to conduct joint actions, programmes and/or projects in the areas of training, services and research.

The Permanent Secretary of SELA, Ambassador Clarems Endara, and the Rector of the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil, Engineer Walter Mera Ortiz, signed the Agreement with which the UCSG undertakes to work jointly and in a coordinated manner in the development of academic events, such as courses, seminars, diploma courses, conferences, fairs and workshops; to jointly develop programmes that promote personal and professional development and the rescue of the population in situations of risk or economic or social marginalisation; as well as to cooperate in joint publications and collaboration in academic, scientific, cultural and technological dissemination events, among others.

Furthermore, SELA undertakes, in accordance with the work programme and schedule, to provide technical support as required for the exchange of information, documentation, knowledge, promotion and dissemination of issues of interest to both institutions, as well as the necessary cooperation to promote and foster academic, scientific and cultural activities through collaboration in the fields of education and research for mutual benefit.

This agreement contributes to SELA’s Work Programme, especially in the area of Social Development, as part of the efforts to improve social development indicators in the region, in a sustainable, sustainable and resilient manner, through cooperation initiatives, training, agreements and exchange of best practices, in order to achieve a comprehensive approach, in consideration of economic and environmental development policies.
