Lima.- The 6th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum’s Education Ministerial Meeting (AEMM) will revise the strategy proposed to boost “quality inclusive education” in order to guarantee employability, innovation and competences for present and future generations of students.

The 6th AEMM will begin today at Lima Convention Center. Proceedings will be chaired by Peru’s Education Minister Jaime Saavedra.
To mark the end of the event, APEC economies will adopt a Joint Ministerial Statement during the closing session on Thursday, October 6. The document will serve to ratify their readiness to continue working towards quality inclusive education for new generations to face the challenges of the globalized world.
To this end, the proposal places an essential role in increasing educators’ information and communication technologies (ICTs) capacities, as well as in promoting research and innovation in Asia-Pacific region schools.
Likewise, the 6th AEMM will provide a space to exchange ideas and gather experiences related to high-performing education systems, as is the case of South Korea, Australia, Canada, Japan and the United States.
The meeting will be attended by international institutions such as the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
